How To Put Pokemon Cheats On Gpsphone

As an avid reader of comics, I'm interested in any interpretations that can be done about the myth of the superhero, they admit that the "sequential art" is becoming increasingly difficult to find or any approach Innovation than the cliches that come crawling since seventy years. For the film that interested me Paper Man, at first glance looked similar to works such as Kick-Ass or Defendor , but with a sensibility more "indie." But it turned out something very different because, first, the only superhero who appears in it is imaginary. Fortunately the strong cast and witty script of directors Kieran and Michele Mulroney are able to make a moderately entertaining film, though not really have much to do with superheroes.

The unheroic protagonist is Richard Dunn (Jeff Daniels), a mature writer with little success, trying to overcome his writer's block and, hopefully, restore the relationship with his wife Claire (Lisa Kudrow). As a first step they decide to separate for a while, and Richard moved to a house in a small resort town north United States, where his only companion is Captain Excellent (Ryan Reynolds), an imaginary friend who accompanies him from childhood, sometimes helping them overcome their shyness, and sometimes encouraging isolation and emotional immaturity. But everything could change when Richard meets Abby (Emma Stone), a teenager with similar psychological problems related to a tragedy in her past. So begins a curious friendship developed that could help them overcome their internal conflicts or plunge them deeper into depression.

should be noted from the principle that many of these independent melodramas tend to be rather pretentious. The dialogues often feel far-fetched, are not as smart as they want apparently, sometimes surrounded by an aura of pseudo-intellectualism that may scare some viewers. Paper Man suffers all these symptoms, but the salvation of all melodrama "indie" are enough moments of emotional honesty, interesting characters and a "hook" them with its own identity and make us forget for a moment whim film school. Paper Man gets redeemed (in my humble opinion) thanks to the energetic actors Starting as clichés (the writer failed, irritating wife, the troubled teen) to eventually become people of substance, whose character seems well informed by his experiences and his past. Jeff Daniels and Emma Stone safely navigate their strange relationship, and although it did not seem credible that so quickly became friends (or under circumstances so suspicious), eventually found the right tone that makes it easy to accept the intangible bond between their compatible "souls." Lisa Kudrow has the more thankless role of intolerant wife is tired of the foibles of her husband. I think we've seen too times in roles similar , but the truth is that we do very well, and his voice is noticeably loud when he shouts phrases like "Get out!" and "Who the hell is she?".

Unfortunately the best of the film is so scarce ... Ryan Reynolds in the role of Captain Excellent imagery. Other than its horribly artificial hair, has every appearance of a superhero, and his performance holds the right level of humor and seriousness to make it very funny, without losing sight of the psychological significance of his presence and advice. In addition, it gives me a good laugh every time he says the word "evil", may his role had been more extensive. Anyway, my enthusiasm for the upcoming film version of Green Lantern has risen considerably. Then perhaps Paper Man I would have liked more if it consisted of just one long conversation between Richard and Captain Excellent, but I guess it would not be much "drama" and growing, so I can accept all the narrative elements peripherals that fill the frame. And while I think Paper Man is not a film totally recommended for those who can work is in the right mood to see independent films, where there are no special effects or explosions, but internal conflict, a little humor and believable human relationships with a dressing of claim. Not forgetting, of course, phrases like "When the world is in danger, when evil is around you and the fear lurks ... Captain Excellent!". Yep ... why I read comics.

Sweet Revenge (I Spit on Your Grave)

Note: This time it was not long after the publication of this review and the premiere of the film in Mexico, but as I had left home page, the back to post for the convenience of readers.

Back in 1978, the film I Spit on Your Grave (also known as Day of the Woman ) caused controversy for its violence, gore, and for daring to show a woman taking revenge into their own hands against the jerks who raped her. Over time it became a cult movie, not so much for their intrinsic values, but for having been censured (or prohibited) in many countries , which only made her more popular. Anyway, I respect their importance within the genre of horror (no doubt laid the foundation for many modern heroines) but within the film of "female revenge", I prefer to work as Thriller: A Cruel Picture and Ms. 45 , because I seem to be better structured, acted and directed.

However, I Spit on Your Grave remains an intense and visceral experience with its manufacturing semi-amateur, rural locations and raw performances. In addition, methods of revenge implemented by the bold character seemed a direct response to nascent slasher film, which added an additional level to the simple narrative. So with all that "baggage cultural "charging I Spit on Your Grave , what would a modern re-make? Given the contemporary horror standards, we can be sure it will be more brutal, cruel and realistic, but can achieve the same impact and emotional historical predecessor, the answer is "No", but it shows that the director Steven R. Monroe and his brave cast tried with genuine energy. And if we forget for a moment the legacy of the original will find that this new version I Spit on Your Grave turns out to be a disturbing, grotesque and satisfying tale of blood, violence and revenge.

The argument is very similar to 1978, although this time he added more details that shape history and change a little the tone of the narrative. At first we meet Jennifer Hill (Sarah Butler), a writer in search of peace and tranquility you would expect in a remote cabin nestled in the woods of Louisiana. Unfortunately, the attractive woman draws the attention of a group of aggressive and ignorant men, after seeing her sunbathing in bikini, invade their cabin with the worst intentions. In a desperate effort to Jennifer manages to escape and find a policeman who can help ... but turns out to be an accomplice of criminals then in a horrible sequence that feels eternal, men take turns to rape her, leaving her then abandoned in the forest. But Jennifer survives, and just have a way to overcome to achieve his dreadful experience ...

As expected, the re-make adds more blood and a couple of new story elements. Some do not lead to anything (for example, the fate of the camera that filmed the crime), but others delve into the private lives of rapists, revealing the hypocrisy of monsters who disguise their evil behind a facade of respectable civilization. However, the change More fundamental is the revenge of Jennifer, as it adds a psychological component that at times reminded me of the elaborate scenarios Saw franchise . Fortunately I Spit on Your Grave remains within the probable, and although the film follows the formula of torture, this time the grotesque cruelty and violence to feel justified and successful. On the other hand, this deliberate attitude remains a bit of suspense and spontaneity of the original film, where the actions of women and their attackers appeared to result from impulsive reactions, not a Machiavellian plan. The difference is subtle but significant, and could not if you say "better" re-make ... but definitely appreciate the creative team's efforts to find a variation that respects the original premise and add new sub-text to prevent it from becoming a hollow exercise in special effects and sexual exploitation.

Speaking of which, there are good effects "gore" in I Spit on Your Grave . Unfortunately not as graphic as I expected and I feel that the director chickened out (even as amended "Unrated") with some scenes that have earned displayed in all its "glory" for the most cathartic effect. Still, this re-make of I Spit on Your Grave seemed like a decent thriller that is a valid use for the clichés of porno-torture, and although it shows its low budget film and some performances, I admit that was better than I expected. The first half of the film is disturbing, distasteful and impossible to "enjoy" definitely cause revulsion in many people, but almost compensates for the successful conclusion what we suffer at first. So despite its successes, not the kind of film that can be recommended for anyone, and only fans find that they can resist horror that deserves to bear the name of its predecessor. This could be a compliment or an insult, depending on the sensitivity of the viewer.

'm the Number Four (I Am Number Four)

almost ten years I've been complaining about fantasy films that attempt to capture the same audience child Harry Potter. However, in recent months appears to have lessened the flood of imitators. The reason? It occurs to me that the success of the Twilight series caused a "change of address" executives in Hollywood, and instead to explore variations of "magical children saving the world", are now desperately searching for new instances of "forbidden teen romance with supernatural powers." For better or for worse, I Number Four belongs to the nascent sub-genre, and while not all bad, does not have an iota of originality or real emotion. But ... as with Twilight and its sequels, I do not belong to the target audience for the film, so I can only give the point of view of an old geek.

The number 'four' referred to the title is the young John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), one of nine extraterrestrial planet Lorien that are hidden in the earth to escape the threat of mogadorianos, a race of murderers interplanetary not rest until they kill their enemies and conquer our planet (or something). For reasons not understood (or explained), the villains must kill their victims in the correct order, and the beginning of the film we see how to exterminate the number 3. When they hear that, John and Henri Guardian (Timothy Olyphant) decide to change their identities and move to a small town, where, theoretically, be safe from mogadorianos. At first his plan appears to work, and even John admitted to the local school where he meets Sarah (Dianna Agron), who begins to fall. But when someone young video capture using their powers and puts it on the Internet, mogadorianos know exactly where to strike ...

Translation: the handsome and mysterious young woman with a secret crush on the normal intelligent and artistic girl. And while the whole universe to oppose the relationship, their love is so strong and pure (and chaste, of course) that transcends any obstacle. Or so it seems at first. I admit that does not end as I expected, but that does not stop I scroll Number Four spot well known, in the fantastic as in youthful romance. And I'm not against it, the director DJ Caruso has made films and little hollow original, but quite dynamic and entertaining , which gave me hope that his new film would be salvageable items. Unfortunately very little work (for me) in I Number Four, because I could not interest me or the characters or the forced romance, much less in the horribly hackneyed science fiction concepts with which it intends decorate your tired narrative.

For starters ... "Mogadorianos? "That was the best name that occurred to the author" Pittacus Lore "(actually a pseudonym of Jobie Hughes and James Frey) to the villains of the novel in which this film is based? Sure, the name itself is not important, but it is a good example of the level of creativity that holds the entire movie. The heroes are handsome young men who seem models, the villains are bald and pale, with teeth of a piranha, and suffer the syndrome of "talkative villain, revealing his plans or talking more when they could easily wipe out the heroes. The "powers" of "Loriano" (?) Are sufficiently ambiguous to create artificial suspense and to fill the huge gaps of history. But yes, his expression always includes elaborate special effects to distract from the horrible script. Speaking of which, I wonder about the motivation of mogadorianos, or its relationship with the planet Lorien ... I assume that all these "details" will be explained in future sequels (either literary or film), but a little more contextual support might have helped me care more about the fate of the characters.

To be fair, I think the movie gets a little better over the last twenty minutes, when he finally enters the picture ("spoiler?'m Not even sure) the alien number 6, played by Teresa Palmer (with the powers of Nightcrawler), whose energy performance injecting some life into the tedious "final battle" on a football field. In fact, I think the whole band would have been much more entertaining with Palmer as the star, rather than the bland couple Pettyfer and Agron. But ... maybe give him a place in the hypothetical consequences. Meanwhile, I'm undecided about Number Four. As a fan of science fiction seemed bland and repetitive, however, the Twilight public might find refreshing references interplanetary battles with rays of light, energy weapons and aliens beagles ... not to mention the new beau Alex Pettyfer , trying to steal fans of Robert Pattinson. Dianna Agron is certainly attractive, and I appreciate that you can talk without ... the ... irritating ... pauses ... Kristen Stewart. And I can not deny that I identified a little (very little) with the "sidekick" Sam (Callan McAuliffe ), obsessed with paranormal themes. Thus, although the combination of all these elements I usually have seemed boring and very forgettable, may have positive aspects which can satisfy the audience in search of junk food film, well served but lacking flavor. After all, the only thing that brings the movie (IMHO) is the fear of future encroachment of fantasy that will surely see in upcoming youth romances. I'm sure at some stylish Hollywood office someone is saying, "It's like Twilight, but with zombies and sharks."
